Richard Santer is an educator, avid audiobooker, and spirit day costume enthusiast. He currently serves as an instructional coach at the La Mesa Arts Academy, in the La Mesa - Spring Valley School District. In his seven years of teaching, Rickie has sought to infuse an excitement for learning into his classroom--whether it be through Project-Based Learning, creating a spirit of community service, or bringing books to life during class novels. His love of children’s literature and awareness of needing diverse books for all kids has grown even greater while fostering a love of reading in his two young sons.
