I SEE YOU: Combating invisibility of culture in educational settings.

This workshop will share Lynwood Unified School District's quest to establish a more culturally inclusive curriculum Pre-K - 12th grade. Participants will be guided through a process they can use to evaluate their own curriculum, hear student voice, and ensure students can see themselves reflected in what they learn. Real practitioners will share their work on curriculum assessment, designing a culturally relevant curriculum which includes the Social Justice Standards, how to infuse culture into core content subject areas, as well as the establishment of an Ethnic Studies Cohort.
