Dr. Jamaal Williams is an educator and lifelong equity advocate. As the Principal of Alain Leroy Locke’s Upper Academy, he oversaw dramatic improvements in school culture and academic measures. After completing a successful principalship at Locke Jamaal was accepted into Harvard’s selective Doctor of Education Leadership program where he graduated in 2021. Jamaal has worked for AVID Center supporting principals across the country with implementing AVID’s College and Career Readiness systems and he currently serves as Coordinator III for Equity, Access, and Acceleration with the Los Angeles County office of Education where he supports LEAs as they strive for equity.
