Lalaine Perez has served as a public educator in California south county schools for 32 years. She is currently the Executive Director of Language Development and Instruction for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Career roles include Bilingual classroom teacher, Reading/Language Arts Specialist, Associate Principal and Principal. Prior experiences include supporting teaching staff as a Mentor teacher, BTSA Support Provider and staff developer. Lalaine has also served as a content writer for District professional development and has presented on the ELA/ELD Framework at the CVESD Parent Academy. She has been a site leader of Dual Language Immersion and after school language programs, and she is a strong proponent of programs and services that promote and support biliteracy and multilingualism.
