This session will focus on identifying the essential components involved in developing a framework for establishing how school districts can begin to respond to and design meaningful language access plans and related services for LEP students and families. The emphasis of the presentation will be to illustrate how appropriate provision of language services can help to enhance an informed decision making process not only for families, but all district stakeholders. Three San Diego county translation/interpretation departments will present on the foundations of a language access plan based on meaningful communication aimed at providing greater involvement.
